Atelier Wagashi
Highlights
- Price for: 1 person
- Validity: 365 days
- Payments: Individual or group payment
We invite you to make 2 pieces of a variety of seasonal wagashi, which you can take away (or enjoy on site).
The workshop also includes a tasting of matcha tea served with a cake.
Wagashi are edible works of art that express the changing seasons, adorn life's major events and play an important role in hospitality rituals.
The wagashi presented in this workshop is a special wagashi offered in the tea ceremony. It's called “Omogashi”.
Unlike Western desserts, which are appreciated for their intrinsic flavor, Omogashi is an introduction, an appetizer that enhances and fully appreciates the flavor of the exceptional tea served at this workshop. Wagashi and tea are inseparable.
Our workshop is an introduction to Japanese pastry-making and the art of tea (chanoyu). You'll discover the traditional techniques that enable you to make your own wagashi, to be enjoyed to the full with the carefully selected teas suggested by our tea master.
